Problem: Religious organizations conditioned the minds of their followers to associate worldly beauty with God. Consider the image of sun rays through clouds, for example. This association kept God on people’s minds in both good times (“God gave us this beauty!”) and bad (“God help us!”). However, in our common era, most people don’t see worldly beauty, but instead spend many hours staring at glowing screens.
Solution: co-opt common images on the glowing screens and associate them with God. Happy people in advertisements are happy because of Jesus!
